Edit report page setup, headers, and footers (Beta)

You can customize your report page setup (margins, orientation, size), as well as configure multiple header and footer options, to meet your reporting needs. This document covers how to configure your page setup configurations and add headers and footers.

Edit page setup

Change page margins, orientation and size

To change page setup:

  1. Click the background of your report to open the Settings tab in the editor panel.
  2. Expand the Page Layout section.
  3. To change margin size, enter your desired pixel size for Margins. This will be applied uniformly through the upper, lower, left and right margins.
  4. To change page orientation, select Portrait or Landscape.
  5. To change page size, select the Page size dropdown and select your desired option (A4, Letter, Legal, A3, or Custom).
    • If you select a Custom page size, select your desired Unit from the dropdown and enter your desired page Width and Height.

Show or hide page rulers

You can show or hide page rulers to help with element alignment and sizing:

  1. Click the background of your report to open the Settings tab in the editor panel.
  2. Expand the Ruler section.
  3. Turn the Show ruler toggle on or off to show or hide page rulers.
  4. Select Pixels, Inches, or Centimeters as your preferred unit of measurement.

Create and manage headers and footers

You can create and manage multiple headers and footers for each report. Multiple headers and footers can be used simultaneously in a report, and can be duplicated, renamed, or deleted as needed.

Create a new header or footer

To create a new header or footer:

  1. Click the background of your report to open the Report settings panel in the editor panel.

  2. Under the Header or Footer section, ensure that the Enable header/footer toggle is turned on.

  3. In the Header or Footer section, next to Manage page headers/footers, select Add new header/footer.

    • If this is the first header/footer in the report, you are automatically taken to the header/footer settings.
    • If this is not the first header/footer in the report, from the new header that appears under Manage page headers, select More > Edit to open the header/footer settings.
  4. (Optional) Rename your header/footer by double-clicking its current name and entering your desired name. Press Enter on your keyboard.

  5. (Optional) To edit the size of your header/footer, enter your desired pixel size in the Height field.

  6. (Optional) To change the color of your header/footer, select your desired Background color using the color picker, wheel, or palette.

  7. (Optional) To upload a background for your header/footer, select Upload image and select an image file from the file browser. Configure your image preferences:

    • Sizing: Select your desired image sizing option:

      • Shrink to fit: Downsize the image to keep it entirely visible within the element.
      • Scale to fit: Expand the image to the maximum size, keeping it entirely visible within the element.
      • Cover: Expand the image so that the entire element is covered, even if it requires cropping.
      • Default: Maintain the original image dimensions regardless of the size of the element.
    • Tile: Turn on the Tile toggle to repeat the image across the header/footer until it covers the entire area.

    • Select a Horizontal (Left align, Center align, or Right align) or Vertical (Top align, Center align, or Bottom align) alignment option.

  8. To apply your header/footer to a specific page, select your desired page in the Pages sidebar. In the editor panel, under Page header or Page footer, select the name of your newly created header.

  9. To add elements to the header or footer, add your desired element to the report using the Add element bar. You can then drag and drop the element into your header or footer.

Apply or remove headers and footers on a page

  1. Scroll to your desired page, or select it in the Pages sidebar.
  2. Under Page header/footer:
    • To apply a header/footer, select the name of the header/footer you want to apply.
    • To remove a header/footer, select None.

After applying a header/footer, you can view all pages it is used on by selecting Used on... under the name of the header/footer. Select any page number to navigate to that page.

Manage existing headers and footers

You can make changes to the name and appearance of your headers and footers, as well as duplicate or delete them.

Edit an existing header or footer

Change an existing header or footer's format settings:

  1. Access the header/footer settings by either:
    • Clicking your desired header/footer on the page.
    • Under Manage page headers/footers, find the header/footer you want to edit, and select More > Edit.
  2. Make your desired changes to the header/footer settings.

Rename an existing header or footer

There are two ways to rename an existing header or footer:

  • While editing the header/footer, double-click its name, then enter your desired name. Press Enter on your keyboard.
  • Under Manage page headers/footers, find the header/footer you want to rename, and select More > Rename. Enter your desired name, then press Enter on your keyboard.

Duplicate an existing header or footer

Duplicate an existing header or footer:

  • Under Manage page headers/footers, find the header/footer you want to duplicate, and select More > Duplicate. A copy of the header/footer appears.

Delete an existing header or footer

Delete an existing header or footer:

  • Under Manage page headers/footers, find the header/footer you want to delete, and select More > Delete.
