Notice for enabling AI-enabled features in Sigma
Please read the following carefully before authorizing AI-enabled features within the Sigma Services. For information on managing artificial intelligence (AI) settings within Sigma, see Configure AI features for your organization.
AI model selection
Sigma currently supports Warehouse AI Models and External AI Models in order to offer AI-enabled features to you (the Customer or a User acting on behalf of the Customer).

Warehouse AI Models: When you enable AI features by configuring a Data Warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks), Sigma Services will use the AI or large language model (LLM) hosted or run by the designated Data Warehouse (e.g., llama4 Maverick, Claude-Sonnet-3.5, Snowflake-Llama 3.3-70b, databricks-gpt-5, etc.). External AI Model: You may alternatively enable AI features by integrating External AI Provider's models (e.g., models provided by OpenAI or Azure OpenAI, such as GPT-5). For more information about configuring External AI Models, see Manage external AI integrations.
Data sharing with third-party applications
By using AI-enabled features, you, on behalf of the entity you represent, hereby acknowledge and consent that your Input Data, Prompts, Customer Data, and User Information will be transmitted to and processed by a Third-Party Application, (e.g. OpenAI and/or Azure OpenAI), based on the integration you select. Such data sharing is essential for the proper functionality of the AI-enabled features in the Sigma Service. For avoidance of doubts:
- When you enable a Warehouse AI Model, your Input Data, Prompts, Customer Data, and User Information are transmitted to the AI/LLM hosted or run by your Data Warehouse. We do not transmit your Input Data, Prompts, Customer Data, or User Information to any additional third-party AI model or AI Provider in this configuration.
- When you configure an External AI Model, Input Data, Prompts, Customer Data, and User Information used for AI-enabled features will be sent to that External AI Model under your organization’s API credentials and will be handled per that External AI Model’s terms and your configuration.
Capabilities and limitations of AI features
While the AI-enabled features are designed to enhance User experience and provide advanced analytical insights, it is important to note the following:
- Accuracy of outputs: The outputs generated by the Third-Party Applications, and thus the AI-enabled features, may be inaccurate, inappropriate, unreliable, or biased. Users are advised to manually review and verify all AI-generated outputs prior to using, publishing, or relying on them for any decisions or actions.
- Human oversight and review: Decisions based on AI-generated outputs, including those integrated into automatic pipelines, should include human oversight and review processes to ensure they are safe, accurate, and suitable for your intended use.
- Your responsibilities: You are responsible for properly selecting your AI Provider and configuring permissions for AI-enabled feature usage. You are further responsible for ensuring your use of the AI-enabled features complies with your agreements with the AI Provider (if applicable).
- Disclaimer of liability: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Agreement, Sigma disclaims any and all liability for any inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in AI-generated outputs. Customers and Users shall exercise their own judgment and are encouraged to corroborate AI-generated information with other reliable sources. You acknowledge that all outputs generated by the Third-Party Applications are not provided by Sigma and Sigma is not responsible for the transmission, security, use, or deletion of any of your data, including Input Data, Prompts, Customer Data, and User Information, by such Third-Party Applications.
