Workbook page settings overview
You can configure page settings that apply to individual pages in a workbook. These settings — such as panels, background images, and page width — allow you to customize your workbook to best fit your project, without having to apply the same settings to all pages.
User requirements
- To change and save settings for the published version of a workbook, you must be assigned an account type with the Create, edit, and publish workbooks permission.
- To make changes in a saved or custom view (but not the published version of a workbook), you must be assigned an account type with the Full explore permission.
Custom page panel settings
You can configure custom panels, including a header or sidebar, for each page in a workbook:
- Follow the steps to add a header or add a sidebar to your workbook.
- Navigate to the workbook page you want to add a panel to.
- In the editor panel, under Settings, select the Page header or Page sidebar you want to display on that page.
The panel appears on the workbook page. For more information on creating and managing custom panels for a page, see Add custom page panels to a workbook.
Page formatting settings
In the editor panel, select Format to style the page.
In the Page style section, configure the following settings:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Background color | Select a background color for the page. |
| Page width | Select the page width. Choose between Full, Large, Medium, and Custom. For Custom, enter a custom width in pixels. |
The Page width setting applies in place of the Page width setting in Layout style settings. Use this setting to override the workbook or theme default page width for individual pages.
In the Background image section, configure the following:
-
Set the toggle to Upload or URL to set the source of the background image.
- For Upload, select Upload image and select an image file from the file browser.
- For URL, enter the URL in the Image URL field. Alternatively, pass a control value to dynamically change the background image.
-
Select a Sizing option for the image:
| Sizing option | Description |
|---|---|
| Shrink to fit | Downsize the image to keep it entirely visible within the page. |
| Scale to fit | Expand the image to the maximum size, keeping it entirely visible within the page. |
| Cover | Expand the image so that the entire page is covered, even if it requires cropping. |
| Original | Maintain the original image dimensions regardless of the size of the page. |
-
(Optional) Turn on the Tile toggle to repeat the image across the page until it covers the entire area.
-
Configure the alignment of the background image:
- Horizontal: Select the horizontal alignment of the background image on the page, by choosing one of Left align, Center align, or Right align.
- Vertical: Select the vertical alignment of the background image on the page, by choosing one of Top align, Center align, or Bottom align.
