Badging: Endorse, Warn, and Deprecate

Add badges to workbooks, Sigma datasets, and cloud data warehouse (CDW) tables to indicate whether the content is Endorsed, has a Warning, or has been Deprecated.  Optional badge notes can be used to provide additional context for all organization members.

Requirements

  • Organization Admins can add badges to all content. 
  • Creators can add badges to all content they have access to.
  • Existing badges can be viewed by all organization members. 

Workbook and Template Badging 

Add or Update a Badge

  1. Open the document.
  2. Click the caret (▼) button to the right of the document title.
  3. Click ADD BADGE or the existing badge.

    This will open the Add Badge modal.
  4.  Select a badge type.

  5. [optional] Add a note.
  6. Click Add.

View an Existing Badge

  1. Open the document.
  2. Click the caret (▼) button to the right of the document title.
    Badges are displayed in the dropdown's top left corner. 
    Hover your cursor over the badge to see additional information.

Dataset and CDW Table Badging

Add or Update a Badge

  1. Open the document or CDW table.
  2. Click the information icon in the page header. This will open the open the page's info popup.
  3. Select a badge type from the Badge dropdown list.

  4. [optional] Add a note to provide context for later reference or other teammates.

  5. Your new badge will now be visible from the document header. 

View an Existing Badge

  1. Open the dataset or CDW table.
  2. If a badge exists, its colored indicator will be displayed in the page header.
    Note: This indicator will only be visible if a badge exists. If no badge exists, but you have permission to add one, you will see a flag icon instead.

  3. To view the badge note or last update time, click the information icon in the page header. This will open the  open the object's details popup.
