The Format tab for each visualization has all of the options for how your graph appears.

### General

General settings cover the overall appearance of the graph pane. This is where you can set the background color for the entire visualization, for the plotting area of the chart, and set a border.

### Title

The title options control the title for the chart. Choose title size, color and placement.

### X-Axis and Y-Axis

In this section you control the appearance of the axes of your chart. You can choose to include axes titles, specify options for formatting of axes labels, turn on and off grid lines and tick marks.

This is also where you can control the scale of your graph.

Ordinal: Values are treated as unrelated. Only values present in the data set are included on the graph.

Time: Values are treated as part of a timeline, with every date graphed between the smallest and largest dates.

Numbers will be treated as a linear range, with every number between the smallest and largest value appearing uniformly spaced on the axis.

Log: Numbers will be graphed on a base 10 Logarithmic scale. A logarithmic transform is applied to the input before the output range is computed.

Pow: Numbers will be graphed on an exponential scale. An exponential transformation is applied to the input before the output range is computed.

Sqrt: Numbers will be graphed on a .5 exponential scale. A square root transformation is applied to the input before the output range is computed.

### Legend

Choose whether to show the legend, where it should appear, and font size.

This is also where you can choose the sort order for the legend.

### Reference Lines

Reference lines can run along either the x or y axis. Lines can be a constant or a computed value. Each graph can have multiple reference lines.

When adding a reference line to a Trellis Chart, you can have reference lines be calculated for the Trellis Chart as a whole, or for each individual chart within the trellis.

### Data Labels

Data Labels can be added to bar charts, including stacked bar charts and grouped bar charts. Toggle the switch on to show the values represented by the bars on your graph. You can choose the size, color, and placement of your labels.

### Shape

For Line and Area charts, you can customize whether to show point markers, choose the method of interpolation (linear, monotone, step), and customize the line style. If you have multiple lines on a single chart, you can choose to customize each series individually.

For stacked bar charts, under Shape you can choose to "Stack as percentage". This scale each bar to 100%, and have each stacked value show as a % of total.
