# Set your language and formatting region

> Set your language and formatting region in Sigma. Your settings override the organization defaults.

You can set your language and formatting region from your user profile. Your settings override the [organization language and formatting region](/docs/manage-organization-language). By default, Sigma uses the organization settings. After you change a setting, you can restore the organization default.

Your language controls the language of Sigma UI text. Your formatting region controls how dates and numbers display for you, according to that region's conventions.

## Set your language

You can set your language to any of the [supported languages](#supported-languages).

To change your language:

1. In the Sigma header, click your user avatar and select **Profile**.

2. Select ![](https://sigma-docs-screenshots.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Icons/edit.svg) **Edit personal info** to begin editing your profile.

3. For **Language**, select your preferred language from the dropdown..

4. Click **Save**.

## Set your formatting region

To change your formatting region and format dates and numbers according to that region's conventions:

1. In the Sigma header, click your user avatar and select **Profile**.

2. Select ![](https://sigma-docs-screenshots.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Icons/edit.svg) **Edit personal info** to begin editing your profile.

3. For **Formatting region**, select your preferred region from the dropdown.

4. Click **Save**.

## Restore the organization default

To use your organization's default language or formatting region again:

1. In the Sigma header, click your user avatar and select **Profile**.

2. Select ![](https://sigma-docs-screenshots.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Icons/edit.svg) **Edit personal info** to begin editing your profile.

3. For **Account language** or **Formatting region**, select **Organization default** from the dropdown.

4. Click **Save**.
