# Notice for Sigma API

> Legal notice for the Sigma API: Terms for API use during your subscription and for building internal applications with the API.

By using the Sigma API, you understand and agree that you will (i) use Sigma API solely during your Subscription Period; (ii) use or make calls to Sigma API to develop, implement, and distribute web or software or other applications utilizing the Sigma API solely for your internal use; and (iii) destroy or remove the Sigma API and any copies thereof from all computers, networks, and storage media, upon the expiration of your Subscription Period.

## Connecting External Tools

If you generate [API Credentials](/reference/generate-client-credentials) to allow external tools and/or third-party applications (“**External Tools**”) to call [Sigma APIs](/docs/notice-for-sigma-api) and connect to your Sigma Organization, you understand and agree that after connecting, External tools will be able to (a) access your Sigma Organization and any [data sources](/docs/connect-to-data-sources) connected to your Sigma Organization, in accordance with your [access permissions](/docs/manage-data-permissions), including any data in your [workbooks](/docs/workbooks-overview) and [data models](/docs/get-started-with-data-modeling); and (b) take actions in your Sigma Organization in accordance with your [account permissions](/docs/account-type-and-license-overview), including performing searches, analysis, explorations, and queries on your data. Using External Tools is not mandatory, and you use them at your sole discretion and risk.
