# Manage Sigma agents (Beta)

> View and chat with the Sigma agents you can access across workbooks.

* This documentation describes one or more public beta features that are in development. Beta features are subject to quick, iterative changes; therefore the current user experience in the Sigma service can differ from the information provided in this page. This page should not be considered official published documentation until Sigma removes this notice and the beta flag on the corresponding feature(s) in the Sigma service. * Sigma agents are a premium feature. While Sigma agents are in beta, anyone in your organization with access to a workbook can use agents. To maintain access to Sigma agents after the beta, contact your Sigma Account Executive.

You can view and chat with Sigma agents you have access to from Sigma **Home**. Select **Agents** to start chatting with an agent or review the agent configuration details.

## Requirements

* To see the **Agents** page, your Sigma organization must have an AI provider configured. See [Set up an AI provider](/docs/configure-ai-features-for-your-organization#set-up-an-ai-provider).
* You must have **Can edit** access to a workbook with an agent in it to see that agent on the home page.

You can only access an agent from the home page if the workbook containing the agent was published (or a version tagged) after August 24, 2026. If you do not see an agent you expect to see, publish or re-tag the workbook.

## Review agents from workbooks you can access

In the navigation menu on Sigma **Home**, click **Agents** to view the agents that you can access.

* On the **Your agents** tab, review agents whose source workbook you own or have **Can edit** access to.
* On the **Shared with you** tab, review agents whose source workbook is owned by someone else, but that you have **Can edit** access to.

Each agent card shows the name of the source workbook, the agent name, and when the agent was last updated. Click a card to open the agent and review the different sections detailing agent configuration:

* **Description** for the agent, if one has been added.
* A version tag, such as **Published**, indicates the version of the agent you're viewing. If the agent exists in more than one version of the workbook, such as the published workbook and a tagged version, click the tag name to switch between them.
* **Location**: A link to the source workbook, page, and chat element (if one exists) that provide access to the agent in the workbook.
* **Instructions**: The instructions configured for the agent, shown as a preview. If you have **Can edit** access, you can view the full instructions.

If you have **Can edit** access to the workbook, you can see additional details:

* **Data sources**: The data elements the agent uses as context.
* **Tools**: The actions, warehouse agents, warehouse search services, or MCP connectors available to the agent.
* **Automated action sequences**: A list of action sequences configured to call the agent on a schedule, including the schedule and the status of each action sequence.

## Chat with an agent

To chat with an agent from the **Agents** page:

1. Select the agent.
2. In the **Ask \[agent name] anything** field, enter a prompt.

Chat history is unavailable for conversations with an agent on the home page.

To return to the agent details, click the agent name. For more details about the agent, select  (**Show summary panel**) to open a summary panel.
