# Add an existing Sigma table to a document (Beta)

> Add an existing Sigma table to a workbook, data model, or report to read and edit shared data. Use one editable table across multiple documents.

> **Note**
>
> This documentation describes one or more public beta features that are in development. Beta features are subject to quick, iterative changes; therefore the current user experience in the Sigma service can differ from the information provided in this page.
>
> This page should not be considered official published documentation until Sigma removes this notice and the beta flag on the corresponding feature(s) in the Sigma service. For the full beta feature disclaimer, see [Beta features](/docs/sigma-product-releases#beta-features).

Add an existing Sigma table to a workbook, data model, or report to read and edit its data. Because you can add the same Sigma table to multiple documents, you can enable cross-document collaboration that allows different teams to use separate documents containing shared, editable data.

This page explains how to add an existing Sigma table to a workbook, data model, or report. For information about editing the Sigma table data, see [Edit a Sigma table](/docs/edit-sigma-tables). For general information about Sigma tables and how they work, see [Sigma tables overview](/docs/sigma-tables-overview).

> **Info**
>
> Sigma tables are currently supported by Snowflake, Databricks, and PostgreSQL connections.

## Requirements

The ability to add an existing Sigma table to a document requires the following:

* You must have access to the connection that contains the Sigma table you want to add.
* You must be assigned an [account type](/docs/account-type-and-license-overview) with the **Can create, edit, and publish workbooks**, **Create, edit, and publish data models**, or **Can create, edit, and publish reports** permission enabled, depending on the document type.
* You must be the document owner or have **Can edit** [document access](/docs/folder-and-document-permissions).

## Add an existing Sigma table to a document

Add a Sigma table to a workbook, data model, or report to make its current data available to view and edit directly in the document.

1. Open the draft of the workbook, data model, or report you want to update.
2. In the **Add element bar**, select **Data** > **Table**.
3. In the **Select source** modal, locate and select the Sigma table.
4. After Sigma adds the Sigma table to the document, click **Publish**.

All documents that reference the Sigma table share the same data, and edits made in one document apply to the others.
